Ann graduated as a Physiotherapist from Uni SA in 1992 and has lived and practiced her profession in a variety of settings throughout Australia, Great Britain and the United States. Over these years she has undertaken ongoing and extensive professional development both in Australia and around the world.
Ann was awarded status as “Titled” by the Australian Physiotherapy Association after completing a vigorous exam process in which she was required to demonstrate highly developed knowledge and skills in Continence and Women’ Health.
Completion of a Master’s of Science in Medicine (Sexual and Reproductive Health) in Psychosexual Therapy at the University of Sydney, qualifies her to practice as Clinical Sexologists. To compliment her work as a Sexologist she has completed Level 1 of the Gottman Method Couples Therapy Training.
Ann has completed training as a Practitioner of Applied Mindfulness. Her training was specifically targeted to health care professionals and has provided her another evidence-based tool to utilize, particularly when working with persistent pain conditions. She has extensive training in trauma informed practice.
Throughout her career Ann has been fortunate enough to study with some of the best in the world of Physiotherapy and Bodywork. Her studies in wholistic bodywork including the Feldenkrais Method, Rolfing and Breathwork have complimented her mainstream Physiotherapy training, and has helped define her unique practice style. She has extensive knowledge and experience in treating complex musculoskeletal problems and is a Certified McKenzie Therapist.
Ann is a member of the SA Women's, Men’s and Pelvic Health committee, a branch of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, and a Titled member of the College of Physiotherapists. She is actively involved in teaching and bringing high quality, evidence based professional development opportunities to other physiotherapists with an interest in Women's, Men’s and Pelvic Health, both in SA and nationally.
Ann is also a member of the Adelaide Pelvic Pain Network, a group of independent like-minded health professionals located around Adelaide and regional SA, committed to helping people of all ages suffering with pelvic pain. Being a part of this network provides her with a wealth of resources to draw on when working with people presenting with pelvic pain conditions.
Ann strives to integrate diversity into her work and has an obvious passion for understanding the human body and mind. She aims to provide a professional, caring and compassionate environment where she is able to share her broad knowledge, extensive experience and skills to empower her clients to meet their goals no matter what age or current level of function.
Ann receives referrals from GPs, Urologists, Colorectal Surgeons, GI Specialists, Pain Specialists, Physiotherapists and Gynaecologists/Obstetricians both locally and statewide.
